Leeds has long been known among savvy shoppers for its variety from seasonal produce to this season’s latest ‘it’ bag this city has drawn a crowd of bargain hunters and fashionistas for decades. So the Leeds Markets team try to ensure that there is always something new to keep eagle eyed shopper ahead of the curve.

From seasonal Christkindelmarkt and summer fairs to vintage bazaars and record sales, speciality markets are starting to enjoy a return to favour as shoppers seek a bargain away from the high street.

The speciality markets bring a wide a range of products to the city some times at special occasions, others are regular events. The city has hosted world food markets sampling the delights of France on Bastille Day and Italian cuisine on a sunny summer afternoon. The German Christmas market has become a much loved feature in the annual calendar bringing a fairground atmosphere to Millennium Square and filling the air with the smell of Bratwurst and sweet stocking fillers.

Alongside regular craft and vintage markets the team also help hundreds of people set up car boot sales in their local area selling everything from bric-a-brac to antiques, toys and clothing.

Adding to the mix of culture and cuisine in the city the Leeds Markets team also provide a number of licences for street vendors bringing the street food culture to the city.
