Christmas is coming to town (and Leeds Kirkgate Market!)

Leeds Markets is kicking off the festive season in style this week. Santa and his elves will be guided from the central shopping district on Briggate by two faithful reindeer to Leeds Kirkgate Market for the official switch on of our festive lights, marking our new late night Thursday opening to give you plenty of time to get all of your Chrsitmas shopping done on your way home from the office.

Santa will then take up residence in his grotto at the centre of Leeds Kirkgate Market where he'll stay until 22nd December ready to grant all your Christmas wishes. The grotto will open:

Monday- Wednesday 12-5pm
Thursday 12-8pm
Friday -Saturday 12-5pm
Closed for lunch 2pm-2.45pm;

The Grotto is located on Row A of the 1976 Market Hall (by the New York St Post Office entrance)

Price

There will be free parking at the NCP car park next door to the market with every ticket to Santa's grotto on Thursday's - so dreams really do come true!

If that wasn't the annual Christkindelmarkt will be gracing Millennium Square again this year offering up christmas gifts and some tasty authentic German cuisine. Our farmers markets and the undiscovered markets will also continue to run throughout December as normal offering no end of inspiration for Christmas stockings across the city.

We're off to try on our elf outfits, see you there!
