This craft based market gives local artists a chance to shine without the gallery price tag. Featuring everything from pottery to poetry and original wall art this is the place to come for those unique not-on-the-high-street gifts.
Part of the Artsmix initiative, Undiscovered is one of a number of markets taking place across the city and in private locations to promote emerging and established artists.
Artsmix was formed to help bring business opportunities to artists and reflect creativity and local produce in retail and business environments. The organisation also manages a series of workshops, warehouses and studio spaces for artists to produce what they sell via fairs and markets.
There are around ten stalls at this small but perfectly formed market linking the bustling square of street food retailers near WH Smith and the new shopping centre The Core, to the high street shops along Albion Street. Many of the traders are regulars so if you miss their home wares, jewellery, artwork and gifts one week you’ll be sure to find them the next.
The trader’s at this market take a well earned rest after the madness of the festive season, with no market running throughout January, don’t worry though they’re back in time for Valentine’s Day so craft lovers won’t be disappointed!
